The American Immigration Council, an organization that does great work fighting for immigrants, annually honors immigrants of achievement. This year they have selected Cambodian-born Luong Ung who has been the national spokeswoman for Campaign for a Landmine-free World. She's worked on that worthy cause for 13 years. I applied for the I-140 and I-485 at the same time last October 9th 2009. I was requested an RFE in February of 2010 which they received back in March before the deadline. The RFE was looking for some basic info. I am still awaiting a response to the RFE or approval of the I-140. My job is currently going through tough times and there are rumors I will be laid of on April 30th. My question is that after April 9th(180 days after i filled I-140 and I-485) can i move jobs to a similar role before my I-140 is approved and if so what do i need to do.

Hello,
I am currently working on H1b visa (stamped & valid till Feb 2011). My I-485 is pending (EB3, India). However, I have a need to stay on H1-B status.
If I find a new job/employer who files for an H1-B transfer:
1. Can I travel internationally immediately after getting the receipt notice? I will continue to work for my old employer till I get back from vacation.
2. In the same trip, I plan to get married and get my spouse on a H4 visa. Will getting new H4 visa be an issue in such a case?
3. Any issues at POE?

I think this should be termed "still bad news for most"
Every with the opening up of priority dates, I would say that only a small minority will get a green card anytime soon!
Back to work for us, the brief vacation was nice :)
Don't forget, CIR took out most of the AC21 provisions...

Due to the big mess of July visa bulliten. Can I file multiple 485 cases to secure that one of my AOS case is accepted? Since once it is rejected due to improper filing, the next visa bulliten would be back to 2006 or 2005.
My situation is:
First I-485 case: I can file I-485 as principle applicant, and my spouse can file as dependent
plan to submit at the end of this week (Aug 11, 07).
Sencond I-485 case: My spouse can file as principle applicant based on his I-140, and I can file as dependent, plan to submit before Aug 17, 2007, with cover letter stating:
If the first AOS case based on xxx's I-140 is accepted, please withdraw the second AOS case based on YYY's I-140.
Is it doable? any potential issue? Thank you very much for your comments and advise. Urgent!!!

Hi,
I need to get my H1B stamped in Mexico. I know there are some agencies which offer a complete package trip to the Mexico US Consulate. Does anybody know some names and contact information?
I am based in Los Angeles and am pretty close to Mexico border. Do they have something in Southern California? Other places are also Ok.

Do you know, how one could apply for a Visitor Visa without a Sponsorer in the US ?
What documents do they need to furnish ?
As I understand there are a lot of ppl who come to the US who do not have kids/relatives here, what do they have to show if they are just coming to the US for a Visit not work related ?

My current employer filed my labor and 140 in 2007 under EB3 and are also approved. Now I am planning to move to a different who is willing to start my GC under EB2. Now can i use 2007 as my priority date?

The questions is, if i have an approved I-140 from Company A and I switch over to Company B, then would i be able to file my 485 based on 140 related to Company A when my PD for Labor (company A) becomes current.
